Love, Care, and Urgency to #StopLine3

Halley (left), Conor (second from right), and Donna (right) at a Line 3 art build in June.

We’re Halley and Conor, TakeAction Minnesota climate leaders.

Right now, our friend and fellow climate leader Donna is part of a group of water protectors led by Indigenous leaders walking over 200 miles from Northern Minnesota to the state capitol in St. Paul.

We’ve been keeping in touch with her along the route. Today is her 13th day walking. She told us, “We keep growing in number and in love and care for each other and our beautiful surroundings. This is a sacred act of love and healing for our dear planet!”

Last week’s IPCC report reaffirmed what we all already knew; it’s urgent that we divest from fossil fuels and start our just transition to renewable energy now.

Join Donna and the community of people across the state acting out of love, care, and urgency to stop line 3.

💧 Check out the Treaty People Walk for Water schedule below (and follow along online), and turn out to support Donna, and everyone else making this journey to honor treaties, water, and climate.

✊ Meet the water protectors when they arrive at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul on August 25. Together, we’ll hold space at the Capitol for all that has already been lost to the climate crisis, and for all that we can still save. Register to join us.

Treaty People Walk for Water Route Map

Just like the land and water that Line 3 crosses, our state Capitol itself sits on native land – and yet, for months, legislators have been shutting Indigenous leaders and water protectors out as people continue to put their bodies on the line across Northern Minnesota. The August 25 Capitol gathering is our chance to come to them, where they can’t hide from us.

Join us on August 25 to tell our elected leaders: We will not allow Line 3 to further jeopardize our futures.

In solidarity,

Halley and Conor
