Robert Haider (he/him) joined TakeAction as Legislative Director in December 2020. In this role, Robert is responsible for directing and sustaining a public policy program that operates strategically at the state, local, and federal level by building power for a people-centered democracy, strengthening a progressive ideology, and contesting for narrative power. Prior to joining TakeAction, he was the DFL Voter Protection Director, where he fought to ensure that every eligible Minnesotan could cast their ballot and their ballot counted. He was also previously a policy aide on three committees for the DFL House Caucus and managed Secretary of State Simon’s reelection campaign in 2018.
Robert was born and raised in North Dakota, where he worked on a number of campaigns and in state and federal government for a decade. He lives with his partner in southwest Minneapolis where he also serves on his neighborhood council. He earned his B.S. in Political Science at the University of North Dakota and his J.D. at the UND School of Law
