Twin Cities United Performers

Twin Cities United Performers (TCUP) is a group of 500+ performers in the Twin Cities organizing to make Minnesota the best place in the world to be a performer.

We believe all workers – artists + performers included – deserve fair pay and respect
We’re up against streaming services and certain industry leaders who profit from our art while undervaluing it
We organize with creativity, love for the scene, and the determination of labor organizers throughout history

Our campaigns

TCUP was born out of solidarity organizing with a worker unionization effort at First Ave venues during the fall of 2023. Over 300 musicians organized a letter and statement of solidarity. When venue workers voted to unionize, First Ave voluntarily recognized the union within 24 hours.

Now, we’re organizing for better communication between venues and performers with the TCUP advance and completing community research to plan our next campaign. 500+ performers have signed our pledge to use the TCUP advance when advancing shows.
