St. Paul, Minn.— Today, state Representative Steve Drazkowski (GOP-21B) held a news conference to discuss “new developments in the ongoing case regarding Rep. Ilhan Omar.”
Last week, supporters at a rally for President Trump targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-5) with a chilling chant to “send her back,” fanning the flames of white nationalism.
TakeAction Minnesota released the following statement:
“Our fates are tied together. When elected officials attack our neighbors and intentionally spread misinformation in our communities, it hurts all of us. Leaders who divide our state and country weaken the whole.
Stoking division is part of the President’s campaign playbook. As Rep. Drazkowski attempts to carryout Trump’s hate-filled strategy in our state, we’re calling for unbreakable solidarity across race, class, gender, and geography. In Minnesota, we recognize our interconnection and interdependence and care for each other.
We believe a fair, inclusive, joyful future is possible if we organize for it. TakeAction Minnesota is hosting a community training tonight from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in St. Paul on White Supremacy, Misogyny, and the 2020 Election. All are welcome.”
