St. Paul, MN—TakeAction Minnesota is an independent political organization working to elect progressive champions fighting to put people first in our democracy.
Today, TakeAction Minnesota announced its latest endorsed candidates for Minnesota House and local offices. The slate includes progressive incumbents and bold leaders stepping up during this critical election season.
“We’re fighting for a democracy that puts people first, not special interests that only serve the wealthy & powerful few,” said Dan McGrath, executive director of TakeAction Minnesota. “We’re proud to endorse seasoned and new leaders for state and local office who have moral clarity and are in this fight with us.”
TakeAction Minnesota endorsed progressive incumbents in the Minnesota House, including:

At the local level, Mark Haase, candidate for Hennepin County Attorney, Nikki Villavicencio-Tollison, candidate for Maplewood City Council, and Frank Jewell, candidate for St. Louis County Commissioner received TakeAction Minnesota’s endorsement.
“This political season feels different,” McGrath stated. “More women and women of color are running to win. Not only are voters paying attention, people are taking action. We’re seeing campaigns build powerful, diverse, and multiracial coalitions that are changing the political landscape in our state.”
TakeAction Minnesota endorsed Erin Murphy for Governor before she won the DFL-endorsement in June, as well as Rep. Ilhan Omar for CD5 and Keith Ellison for Attorney General.
TakeAction Minnesota members participated in the endorsement process in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Duluth. Our organization is comprised of 22 people’s organizations and 110,000 progressive supporters, leaders, activists, and members.
