Jen McEwen for Senate District 7

“We can do it. It’s just a matter of courage.”

Jen McEwen is the DFL endorsed candidate, running to be next state senator representing Duluth. As a lawyer, she takes on big health insurance companies, fighting for workers. As the President of the Board of the Damiano Center, she gives back to her community. And as a resident of Duluth and parent of two kids in Duluth Public Schools, she knows Duluth needs strong leadership at the Capitol.

Jen cares deeply about her community and fights for it every single day. Now she wants to bring that fight to St. Paul and be a progressive DFL voice for our Duluth community.

On the Issues

  • Medicare for All — We live in the richest country in the world. No one should be forced to choose between medical care and paying the rent or buying groceries. Jen will fight for the Minnesota Health Plan because we all should have the health care we need.
  • A Clean Energy Economy — Right now, we have a choice: we can continue to let greedy corporations push us to the brink of a climate emergency or we can work together to build a new economy that works for all of us. Jen knows we have to build the economy of Northeastern Minnesota’s future on clean energy to preserve our communities and environment.
  • Secure Housing — No one should be homeless, especially during a pandemic. Jen will prioritize investments in affordable housing. She’ll also fight to tackle the root causes of housing insecurity, and invest in care for all of our neighbors without shame or stigma.
  • Fighting for Duluth — Duluth needs a strong champion in the state senate. Jen is committed to making sure money for our roads, infrastructure, and affordable housing comes to Duluth.

A Partner We Can Count On

TakeAction Minnesota’s members endorsed Jen not just because they are excited about her fight for climate justice and her progressive values, but also because she is committed to working together to tackle our most urgent challenges.

Jen knows that, she can’t change Minnesota alone, but together, we are unstoppable.

She is committed to partnering with all of us to build a brighter future for our state. That’s why she earned the DFL endorsement, and why she is supported by Duluth for Clean Water, the Sierra Club, Education Minnesota, MN 350, OutFront Minnesota, Twin Ports DSA, Women Winning, and local community leaders.
