TakeAction Minnesota Announces Endorsement of Keith Ellison, Steve Simon, and Slate of State, Federal, and Local Candidates
(MINNEAPOLIS, MN)—This week, TakeAction Minnesota announced its slate of endorsements for Congress, State, and local offices. Endorsements were made by TakeAction’s member-led political committee and approved by the Board of Directors.
At the top of the ticket, TakeAction Minnesota proudly endorses Keith Ellison for Attorney General and Steve Simon for Secretary of State. Congressional endorsements include Amane Badhasso for Congressional District 4 and Jen Schultz for Congressional District 8.
In Hennepin County, TakeAction Minnesota endorsed Mary Moriarty for County Attorney and Hollies Winston for Mayor of Brooklyn Park.
“We are proud to endorse this slate of progressive champions up and down the ticket,” said Megan Boyle, chair of TakeAction Minnesota’s political committee. “Our endorsements include incumbents who have led with political courage and new public leaders who are reshaping the state’s political landscape and striving to change our politics for the better. We look forward to having tens of thousands of conversations with Minnesotans this year and electing this powerful slate of candidates in November.”
Legislative endorsements include a slate of progressive incumbents as well as state Senate candidates Alice Mann, M.D. (SD50), Zaynab Mohamed (SD63) and state House candidates Alicia Kozlowski (8B), Samantha Sencer-Mura (63A), and María Isa Pérez-Hedges (65B). TakeAction previously announced its endorsement for Ilhan Omar for Congressional District 5, Mai Chong Xiong for Ramsey County Commissioner, and state Senate candidates Aleta Borrud, M.D. (SD24) and Erin Maye Quade (SD56).
Minnesota’s primary election is Tuesday, August 9. TakeAction Minnesota will be focused on competitive primary elections before the fall. Early voting starts Friday, June 24.
