Graphic: Light blue and white text on a dark blue background with the TakeAction Minnesota logo. "Movement Politics Endorsements 2022"

Today, TakeAction Minnesota is proud to announce its first slate of endorsements for progressive candidates and leaders in movement politics—that is, a politics that puts people at the center of our democracy and invests in building people-power, organizing, and bold leadership we need for long-term change.

Endorsed by TakeAction’s member-led political committee, the first slate of endorsements include Representative Esther Agbaje (59B), Representative Athena Hollins (66B), Representative Liz Olson (8A), Representative Cedrick Frazier (43A), Senator Erin Murphy (64), Senator Mary Kunesh (39), Senator Lindsey Port (55), Senator Jen McEwen (8), state Senate candidates Erin Maye Quade (56) and Aleta Borrud (24), and previously announced endorsements of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Ramsey County Commissioner candidate Mai Chong Xiong.

We’ve seen these candidates operate with clarity, courage, and responsibility prioritizing multiracial and working-class communities over political gain. They’ve stood up to corporate interests like Enbridge and PhRMA, spoken out against unaccountable policing and for reproductive justice, and make organizing—in their caucuses and in the community—a priority.

As a statewide, grassroots political organization, TakeAction is committed to shifting from ‘politics as is’ to ‘politics as it should be.’ We are so excited to announce the rest of our endorsements this month and get to work. We’ll be throwing down in critical primary elections and building our biggest deep canvass program to date.
