Our abortion rights are on the line.

The state of Mississippi has straight up asked the Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, arguing that there is no constitutional right to abortion. Our reproductive rights should not be up for debate.

Wednesday, December 1st – the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson, a case about an unconstitutional Mississippi law that bans abortion after 15 weeks. This case threatens to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision that recognized our right to decide whether to continue a pregnancy.

This is a critical moment for abortion rights and access. It’s the first time the Court has heard arguments about a pre-viability abortion ban since it decided Roe v. Wade nearly 50 years ago. We know that the impact of abortion bans fall hardest on people of color, people with disabilities, people in rural areas, young people, immigrants, and people having difficulty making ends meet. If Roe v. Wade falls, more than half of US states are poised to ban abortion – giving this case the potential to devastate families and communities across the country.

We need all of us in this fight. Join us today in standing up for abortion rights.

Here in Minnesota, abortion is protected by our state constitution. But if Roe v. Wade is overturned, Minnesota could be the only state in the Upper Midwest where people can seek safe and legal abortion care.

The fight to protect and expand abortion rights has never been more urgent. Now is the time to make your voice heard and demand that Roe v. Wade remain the law of the land, and to call for the repeal of state laws that keep abortion care scarce, stigmatized, and expensive.

Join TakeAction and our UnRestrict Minnesota coalition partners as we stand up to say that #AbortionIsEssential in Minnesota, and nationwide. Check out our upcoming events and find an opportunity to get involved. Make your voice heard now.

Thank you for standing in solidarity with the movement to protect our reproductive rights at this critical time. Together, we can respond to threats at the U.S. Supreme Court and make sure that Minnesota is prepared to meet the moment, regardless of what happens next.
