In 2022, our democracy and our freedoms were on the ballot. We used our collective power at the polls to make our voices heard on the critical issues and compounding crises that matter most: defending our democracy, protecting our reproductive rights, transforming public safety, addressing the climate crisis, caring for our families and taking on greedy corporations that put profit before people.
At TakeAction Minnesota, we came into this election season clear on the stakes and challenges of this moment. At every level of government, we know that we need more than Democratic majorities to protect our reproductive rights, climate, and democracy. We need progressive leaders in office who will be champions with us to transition from fossil fuels, transform public safety beyond policing, build a caring economy, and deliver reproductive justice.

In Hennepin County, our primary elections give us a choice: we can elect status-quo politicians, or we can vote for bold, progressive leaders with the political courage this moment calls for. TakeAction Minnesota’s member-led political committee has endorsed two progressive champions running in competitive primaries in our district.
To parents, students, and educators across the state who have been struggling to juggle it all throughout the pandemic: we see you. We’re diving into school board races because of what’s at stake, but also because we know we can be powerful together.
